Southern Belize is closer than it feels.
Most guests fly into Belize City, then make the easy trip south by road. However you arrive, we'll help you sort the final few miles.
By air
Fly into Philip S. W. Goldson International Airport (BZE) in Belize City. From there you can rent a car, book a shuttle, or take a short domestic flight to Placencia and connect by water taxi.
By car
Take the Hummingbird or Coastal Highway toward Dangriga, then continue south on the Southern Highway to Independence.
By bus or shuttle
Public buses run from Belize City toward Independence. Private shuttles can also be arranged door-to-door.
By water taxi
Coming from Placencia? The Hokey Pokey water taxi crosses the lagoon to Independence in about 15 minutes. See the schedule and fares →
